Hibo Delivers (Driving & Warehouse Solutions) · Last updated 12 August 2026
This notice explains how Hibo Delivers collects and uses your personal data when you apply
to become a self-employed contract delivery driver with us. We recruit drivers who deliver on
DPD routes; your contract is with Hibo Delivers, not with DPD.
Automated messaging. If you tick the WhatsApp consent box on your
application, our automated recruitment assistant will message you on WhatsApp to ask
qualification questions, collect your documents and book your training day. It will always
tell you it is an automated assistant, and a human recruiter is available at any time — just
ask, or reply HUMAN. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop messaging you.
Application answers: right to work, driving licence and penalty points, age
confirmation, previous experience, and when you could start
Documents you send us: both sides of your driving licence, your right-to-work
evidence, your National Insurance number, and your Basic DBS certificate or
DBS application reference
Your WhatsApp conversation with us, and your training-day attendance
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
To assess your application and arrange training — legitimate interests, and steps
towards entering a contract with you.
To contact you on WhatsApp — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To carry out right-to-work checks — compliance with a legal obligation.
Automated decisions
We score applications to help our recruiters prioritise, but we do not reject anyone based on
an opinion formed by software. Applications are only automatically declined on objective facts
you tell us — for example not holding a full UK driving licence, or not having the right to work
in the UK. If that happens you can ask for a human recruiter to review it, and we will.
Who we share it with
Meta Platforms (WhatsApp) — to deliver our messages to you
A UK government-registered identity provider — to verify right-to-work documents
(once this service is in place)
Google — calendar invitations for your training day
DPD — operational details of drivers who are onboarded to a route
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
If you are not successful or do not proceed, we delete your application and documents within
6 months, unless you ask us to keep you on file. If you join us, your records are kept for the
duration of your engagement and as long afterwards as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use
it, or withdraw your WhatsApp consent. Email hibodelivers@gmail.com and we will respond
within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
Your documents are held on a secure UK-based server, and access is limited to our
recruitment team using password-protected accounts. Messages travel over WhatsApp's
encrypted platform. If you have any concerns about how your documents are stored,
email us and we'll answer honestly.
